Confluence

Confluence 2026

Confluence is a professional development series open to all UAA faculty where the many streams of the faculty experience converge. Each session offers space to connect, reflect, and grow as we explore the realities of academic life together. Come ready to engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and support one another in achieving professional goals.

Details

Confluence is held every Spring semester, and we meet once a week for 9 weeks. You do not have to attend every session. Please direct any questions to the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) at uaa_cafe@alaska.edu

Themes vary each year. Learn about the sessions being offered, the dates and times of sessions, and find information to register in our Confluence Google Doc. Please note that minor changes will be made as details are finalized. This document will be updated towards the end of Fall semester every year, so check back for updated information around December.

Faculty Resources

We have a variety of online resources on topics discussed in Confluence, including professional development, course design, having discussions in the classroom, funding opportunities, community engagement, and more. Visit our Faculty Resources page to see what we have available. Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need more direct support, and someone from our team or another group at UAA should be able to get you in the right direction.
