Headwaters Onboarding Series for New UAA Faculty
Welcome to the UAA faculty community! We know those first few months at UAA can feel like a whirlwind, which is why we created Headwaters. Think of this as your weekly home base - a low-pressure, discussion-based space designed to help you find your footing. Whether you’re trying to decode higher education culture, sharpen your teaching toolkit, or just want to chat with fellow new faculty, we’ve got you covered. It’s all about getting you the right advice at the right time so you can navigate UAA’s systems with confidence.

Sessions will be facilitated by Janelle Sikorski, Director of the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE). To help keep our community connected, we are asking all our Anchorage-based faculty to join us in-person. A Zoom option is available to faculty located outside of Anchorage, those with remote work agreements, or anyone who needs an accommodation. Please direct any questions to CAFE at uaa_cafe@alaska.edu.
