UAA Resources

  • Student Health and Counseling Center
The SHCC is dedicated to providing

high quality, respectful, and gender-affirming healthcare for all of our students. We've included the ability for students to identify their preferred name, identity and pronoun use for their medical record, and offer an all gender restroom housed in the clinic.

We offer primary health care and counseling services:

    • Annual exams
    • Pap smears
    • STD testing and treatment
    • PrEP and PEP
    • Birth control
    • Screenings and referral for mental health issues (related to coming-out, depression, anxiety, relationship issues).
  • Pride Center
UAA supports LGBTQ+ community with several resources through the Pride Center (lower level of the Student Union).  Contact Jessi Saiki via email at jmsaiki@alaska.edu to learn how to connect. All are welcome!
  • Single Occupancy Restrooms

The University of Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ does not have policy dictating access to gendered areas such as restrooms. However, the University of Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ does and will continue to comply with all applicable federal, state or local laws that may apply to issues surrounding access to gendered areas. Gender-neutral facilities may be available in some buildings. Students, staff, faculty and campus guests are asked to behave respectfully when utilizing shared spaces, including gendered areas, and to consider and respect the privacy interests of all members of our communities.
