Meet the Team
Health Promotion Specialist:
Summer Sweet (she/her), MS (OHM), CHES
Summer is a UAA and UAF alumni and has been a part of the Health Promotion Team for
many years. She served as a Peer Health Educator during her undergraduate program
and was hired into a staff position after graduating. Her previous professional background
includes experiences in veterinary medicine and human diagnostic medical care. Summer
earned a Masters in One Health from the University of Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Fairbanks College of
Indigenous Studies in 2025. She believes that public health is extremely intersectional
and takes approaches to addressing health, wellness and education in ways that are
comprehensive, engaging and accessible. She hopes to reduce barriers and bolster support to allow students to thrive in both
their academic and social experiences on the UAA campus. In her free time, Summer enjoys spending as much time as possible with her golden
retriever, Ragnar. You can usually find them romping around trails and the backcountry
or sharing a bowl of popcorn at home. Fun fact- Ragnar is also a therapy dog and attends
programs and events on campus- so keep an eye out for him!
