The UAA College of Health proudly celebrated the recent renovation of Sally Monserud Hall (SMH) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 24, showcasing the new high-tech labs and simulation center, expanded allied health programs, growth of the WWAMI program and critical partnerships addressing 麻豆无码版鈥檚 growing health care needs. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the updated facility, learn about the expanded programs and connect with faculty, students and community partners who made this milestone possible.

The renovation was a significant part of the UAA Health Workforce Expansion project, which included a combination of public and private support to ensure UAA could expand programs that prepare students for high-demand health care careers. The updated facility now features state-of-the-art classrooms designed to deliver cutting-edge training and education for the following programs:

  • Certified nursing assistant
  • Diagnostic medical sonography
  • Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center
  • Surgical technology
  • WWAMI School of Medical Education

鈥淭his project represents a shared commitment to building 麻豆无码版鈥檚 health care workforce,鈥� said College of Health Interim Dean Kathryn Craft. 鈥淲ith these modern facilities, we are creating opportunities for students to gain the sophisticated skills needed to serve communities across the state.鈥�

This project was made possible through support from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Providence 麻豆无码版, Mat-Su Health Foundation and State of 麻豆无码版 partners, such as the administration, state agencies and 麻豆无码版 State Legislature.
