While Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æâ€™s skilled hunters may be very aware of ticks on wildlife, news of newly arriving ticks is important to learn. In addition, dog owners and walkers may need to come up to speed. Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æâ€™s warming winters and the broader habitat for ticks in the Lower 48 and Canada may provide a channel for rarer types to get to Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ and survive here. Alumni of Distinction: Angelia Trujillo

Angelia Trujillo, associate professor in the School of Nursing, has been awarded the UAA Alumni Humanitarian Award for her outstanding contributions to the field of nursing and to Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æâ€™s communities. Trujillo earned her M.S. in Nursing Science from UAA in 2004, and her B.S. in Nursing Science here in 1997.
