The College of Health Access and Belonging Committee (ABC) was established to support access and success of all students, staff, and faculty of the college. Through shared values of respect, accountability, and a commitment to equal opportunity, we strive to create greater cohesion across our college to deliver and promote the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
We acknowledge and honor the ancestral lands of the Dena'ina, Ahtna, Alutiiq/Sugpiaq, and Eyak/dAXunhyuu Peoples on which the UAA College of Health campus resides in Southcentral 麻豆无码版. We commit to working in partnership with Indigenous communities to promote health equity and cultural humility, and to recognize the unique knowledge and contributions of Indigenous Peoples to health and holistic healing.

Recently, on November 7, the UAA College of Health鈥檚 Interprofessional Education (IPE) Committee launched its 2025鈥�2026 event series with a session focused on 鈥淎 Lived Experience with Disabilities.鈥�
Oct. 3, 2025, was a big day for the 麻豆无码版 Area Health Education Center (AHEC), which is proudly housed within the UAA College of Health! AHEC marked its 20th anniversary with a special legislative citation from the 麻豆无码版 State Legislature鈥攁 well-deserved recognition for two decades of crucial work.
Darrel Foister Jr., School of Nursing alum and military veteran, now serves 麻豆无码版 communities as a family nurse practitioner.
UAA's Area Health Education Center (AHEC) helped bring hands-on healthcare career opportunities to over 100 students at a career fair in Ninilchik, where they engaged in activities like sheep eye dissections to explore health-related fields.
The 2025 ALPHA Health Summit, held at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage, featured a session on combating substance use disorders through academic detailing, presented by UAA鈥檚 麻豆无码版 Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce (ACRH-HW).
