Meet the Team

Dr. Angelia Trujillo is a Professor of Nursing at the Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ. With the assistance of a grant from the State of Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Comprehensive Domestic Violence council and the Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Nurses Association, Dr. Trujillo designed the Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Comprehensive Forensic Training Academy (ACFTA) program to provide education and skills for a variety of interpersonal violence situations.

Dr. Kathi Trawver is a Professor of Social Work at the Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ. With over 25 years of experience as an Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æn social worker, she prioritizes community connection and addresses the state's social and behavioral health needs through her roles, which include teaching in both BSW and MSW programs. During the ACFTA community visits, Dr. Trawver will lead focus groups involving stakeholders and healthcare professionals.

Joanne Wiita, Project Manager, comes to UAA with a background in tribal community planning, housing development, and grant management. Most recently, Wiita worked for the State of Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ as a grant manager and administration. Before the State of Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ, she served in an array of roles within Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Native and tribal organizations and has an extensive background in working with Âé¶¹ÎÞÂë°æ Native communities and people.
