Peony Cooperatives

There are three peony marketing co-ops owned by farmers in Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ. Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Peony Co-op (Mat-Su), Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Beauty Peony Co-op (Homer) and the Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ Peony Market Cooperative (Soldotna). These farms sell within the state and market Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ  peonies to other parts of the US and abroad.  

Pink Peonies

Peonies are coveted flowers for weddings and other special occasions. Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ’s unique geographic location, late growing season, and long summer days allow Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ’ peony farmers access an unfulfilled market segment: weddings in July, August and September. Because of this, competition for Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ peonies is low and demand is high.

Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ peonies are harvested before they bloom, and shipped as buds to locations world-wide. Once peonies arrive, consumers place the peonies into water and watch as the magic of Â鶹ÎÞÂë°æ’s peonies bloom before their eyes.
