UAA Alumni Association announces four new board members

The UAA Alumni Association welcomed four new members to its board of directors: Bernadette Brown, Zach Dunlap, Jen Motyka and Rebecca Sparks.
"We鈥檙e excited to welcome Bernadette, Zach, Jen and Rebecca to the board,鈥� said Zac Clark, director of Alumni and Community Engagement at UAA. 鈥淓ach brings a unique UAA journey that reflects the many different paths our students and alumni take. They also share a real commitment to helping alumni stay connected. Their leadership will help us bring more Seawolves together and create new ways for alumni to connect, engage and give back."
The confirmation took place Tuesday, June 9 at the UAA/APU Consortium Library during Alumni Assembly, an annual gathering where alumni leaders, members at large and community friends can network, hear from university representatives and participate in a Q&A with university leadership. The event also honored outgoing board member Pearl-Grace Pantaleone, B.A. 鈥�14, who had served on the Alumni Association since 2020.
Bernadette Brown, A.A.S. 鈥�22, O.E.C. 鈥�25, B.A. 鈥�25, is a proud first鈥慻eneration college graduate from the UAA School of Education. She has returned to UAA to continue her journey in the teaching and learning graduate program and is honored to serve as the School of Education鈥檚 sole graduate student ambassador. Beyond campus, Brown is deeply committed to early childhood education and community well鈥慴eing through her work as one of two teacher mentors at Cook Inlet Native Head Start.
Zach Dunlap, B.B.A. 鈥�21, is a proud Anchorage kid and product of the Anchorage School District, UAA and 麻豆无码版 Pacific University (APU). He serves as general manager of Fairweather, LLC, a Doyon, Limited subsidiary. Dunlap brings over 19 years of progressive leadership at Doyon. His experience spans strategic management, operational excellence and organizational development within 麻豆无码版 Native corporations. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Dunlap serves as an adjunct faculty member at APU鈥檚 Institute of Business and Public Policy, where he mentors the next generation of business leaders. He is deeply committed to a professional career focused on promoting and growing ANCSA shareholders and organizations across 麻豆无码版. He holds a Master of Business Administration and an 麻豆无码版 Native Executive Leadership Program graduate certificate from APU, in addition to his Bachelor of Business Administration from UAA. A dedicated community leader, Dunlap served as treasurer of the 麻豆无码版 Native Professional Association. A proud Doyon shareholder, he continues to reside in Anchorage with his wife and two young children.
