Migration to Kandji for university-owned Apple devices
by Keenan Britt |
UAA is migrating to a new Apple Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution called Kandji for university-owned Apple devices. This change is part of UAA Information Technology Services (ITS) ongoing efforts to enhance device security, streamline management, and improve the overall user experience for Apple device users across the university.
To avoid major impact and disruption near the end of semester wrap up activities, this migration is occurring in small batches allowing the service center to respond quickly should anyone need support. ITS asks that those who must wait until final semester activities have been completed tro please complete this migration as soon as they are able. There is a risk of technical problems that could affect devices and ability to access important services if this migration is not completed by mid-May.
What to expect
Apple devices are being migrated and will automatically be moved to Kandji in batches. Employees may choose to migrate voluntarily sooner following directions in the included link. Employees should ensure their devices are prepared and their data is backed up for this update to avoid downtime.
ITS asks employees to note several clicks are needed through this process. Employees should not leave their machine unattended or it may inadvertently lock out during the process.
Those who have any more questions, concerns, or require assistance with the migration process, should don’t contact the IT Services Help Desk.
